Downloading Files

What you need in advance

  • Access to check your email
  • The password the Cornell user set for you

Steps: Downloading Files

  1. Choose External User Login if you haven't already done so. This requires you enter a one time use Login PIN sent to your email address. For complete instructions review: External User - How Tos - Login
  2. Select the filename you want to download.
  3. You will be prompted to enter the password the Cornell user set for you.
  4. A policy message will display which you must accept.
  5. Click Download.
  6. Choose where to save the file on your computer.

Why does it say file deleted?
Files sent via the DropBox automatically expire after a number of days set by the sender. Additionally the sender can choose to delete the file at any time. If the file has been deleted, contact the recipient for more information.

I need to send this file to another person. What do I do?
Files sent via the DropBox are for specified recipients only. Forwarding the email notification of a file does not enable the recipient to download the file. In order for a user to download the file via DropBox they must have been granted access by the sender.
